Happy Monday!
Tomorrow 7/18, grades PK-2 will be going to Pump It UP! Wednesday 7/19, grades 3-8 will be going to Oasis. If you have not done so please hand in a waiver for your camper. They will not be able to go without a waiver filled out. The waivers are located on the front desk. If there are no more copies please ask Julianne or Bryanna. Giving back is an important aspect of our mission here at Holy Child Academy. This week your camper assisted in making meals for the less fortunate, creating uplifting cards and friendship bracelets for patients at CHOP, and making snuggle blankets for NICU babies. We hope your camper continue to find new ways to give back to the community! CIT Ryan demonstrated how to make a friendship bracelet. These bracelets made by the campers will be given to children visiting CHOP! In culinary arts, campers packed away lasagna, green beans, and peach pie.
Today CIT Jake helped campers make blankets to donate to Lankenau's NICU. For those who may not know week 5 is Service week for our Counselors in Training. They have had 4 full weeks of observing and assisting their group counselors. In previous years at camp we dedicated one full day of doing service projects like making casseroles and cards for veterans or a local church. This year we decided to have our CITs plan a service project for each day of the week. Their ideas were amazing and very thoughtful! This week long project will not only help them in give back to their community, but also help them build on their leadership skills. We will provide the supplies for them to use, but they will be the ones demonstrating and helping the campers carry out the rest of the project.
Today in Culinary Arts the campers made peach pies with Mrs. Crowley and Charles (CIT). The pies will be delivered to Aid for Friends located in Philadelphia, PA. We will also be having a week long Can Drive that will be given to Aid for Friends!
There will be a yellow box in front of the front desk for any drop offs! THERE ARE STILL SPOTS LEFT TO SIGN UP CONTACT REBECCA KELLICH @[email protected] |
